ULAANBAATAR CITY TOUR

Welcome by your guide and your driver at the airport of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.

The first day program starts at noon. We start with a lunch with the Mongolian team.

Visit the superb National Museum of Mongolian History, the largest museum in Mongolia where you will learn the great history of Mongolia.

Walk in the city center of Ulaanbaatar and on the main square of Genghis Khan

The fabulous traditional Mongolian show of Tumen ekh. You will discover Mongolian instruments, traditional dances, religious dances, traditional songs, overtone songs and contortions.

MINI-GOBI
- Before heading to the countryside, we'll to visit the Gandantegchilen Monastery. This monastery is a significant cultural and religious site in Mongolia, and it is a must-see attraction for tourists. The monastery is located in the heart of Ulaanbaatar and is easily accessible. It is a peaceful and serene place, and visitors can witness the daily rituals and practices of the monks. The monastery also houses a museum that showcases the rich history and culture of Mongolia. Overall, visiting the Gandantegchilen Monastery is a great way to experience the spiritual and cultural side of Mongolia.
- We start our adventure by Khogno-khan Park, which is also known as mini-Gobi. This park boasts a diverse range of landscapes, including a lake, sand dunes that stretch for 80km, trees, and mountains. Once we have arrived and settled into our ger camp, we will have the opportunity to explore the 18th century Erdene khamba monastery and take a leisurely stroll through the sand dunes. For those who are interested, there is also the option to ride a camel.

WHITE LAKE OF TERKH

On this day, we will be heading towards the village of Tariat. Our accommodation for the next 2 nights will be at a ger camp located on the shores of the vast 20km long White Lake of Terkh. The lake is known for its crystal-clear waters and stunning views, making it a perfect spot to unwind and soak up the natural beauty of Mongolia.

Along the way, we will also be making a stop at the Zayan gegeen monastery, It was established in the 17th century and served as a center for Buddhist learning and practice. The monastery was destroyed during the communist era in Mongolia, but has since been partially restored. Today, it serves as a popular tourist destination and a symbol of Mongolia's rich cultural heritage.

HIKING TO EXTINCT VOLCANO

On this day, there is a planned small hiking excursion to the extinct volcano of Khorgo. Khorgo is a stunning natural wonder located in the Khorgo-Terkh National Park in Mongolia. The volcano stands at an impressive height of 2,210 meters and is surrounded by beautiful forests and grasslands. The hike up the volcano is a moderate one, taking around 2-3 hours to complete. As you make your way up the volcano, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Once you reach the top, you'll be able to peer down into the crater and marvel at the unique geological formations. After the hike, you can relax and rest on the picturesque shore of the White Lake of Terkh.

RELAX IN HOT SPRINGS

We will head to the Tsenkher hot spring to bathe in the hot water baths of the ger camp. The hot springs are situated in a picturesque valley surrounded by mountains and lush forests. The water temperature in the springs ranges from 86 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit and is rich in minerals such as sulfur, calcium, and magnesium. The hot springs are known for their therapeutic properties and are believed to have healing effects on various ailments such as arthritis, skin problems, and respiratory issues. We can stay in traditional Mongolian gers and enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility of the area.

Along the way, we will also be making a stop at the Taikhar rock. The Taikhar rock is a large boulder located in the Taikhar Chuluu Nature Reserve in Mongolia. It is a popular tourist attraction due to its unique shape and size, standing at over 20 meters tall. The rock is believed to have been formed millions of years ago through natural erosion and weathering. Visitors can climb to the top of the rock for a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, the rock is considered sacred by the local people and is believed to have healing powers.

NOMADIC LIFE
- Today we are going to heart of Orkhon valley, an unforgettable journey through the vast expanses of Mongolia. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a place of nomadism where herders set up their summer camps every year. You can discover the culture and way of life of Mongolian nomads by exploring this magnificent region. The landscapes are breathtaking, with majestic mountains, crystal-clear rivers, and endless green steppes. We will spend next two days with local nomad family.
- We will learn about their culture, traditions, and way of life. We will help them with their daily chores such as milking cows, making traditional dairy products, and gathering firewood. We will also have the opportunity to ride horses and explore the beautiful landscape of the Orkhon valley. This experience will give us a unique insight into the nomadic way of life and allow us to appreciate the simplicity and beauty of living close to nature. On our last day, our host will prepare a traditional Mongolian dish called "Mongolian barbecue made by grilled stone.
- On the way, we will visit the Tovkhon monastery, beautiful and historic site located in the mountains of Mongolia. The monastery dates back to the 17th century and is known for its stunning architecture and peaceful surroundings. Visitors can explore the various temples and shrines on the grounds, as well as take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

WATERFALL OF ORKHON VALLEY
- Today we will go to Boorgiin Oroi, which is the nearest location to Naiman Nuur where we will be staying overnight. Upon reaching Boorgiin Oroi, we will receive assistance from the yak herders to transport our belongings on their yaks. This will undoubtedly be a one-of-a-kind and thrilling experience.
- On the way we will stop at Ulaan Tsutgalan waterfall, breathtaking natural wonder that is sure to leave you in awe. It is the largest waterfall in the country, with a height of 20 meters and a width of 10 meters. The water cascades down from the rocky cliffs above, creating a stunning display of mist and spray. The area around the waterfall is surrounded by lush green forests and rolling hills, making it a truly picturesque setting.

NAIMAN NUUR NATIONAL PARK
- In the morning, we will charge our belongings onto the yak and begin our hike towards the center of Naiman Nuur National Park.
- Naiman Nuur translates to "eight lakes" in Mongolian, and to truly experience the beauty of this place, we must walk as there is no access by car. Today, we will have the opportunity to see three out of the eight lakes. During our hike, the herders will take care of our belongings that are on the yak.
- We will rendezvous with our drivers on the opposite side of Naiman Nuur National Park in a day.

HIKING IN NAIMAN NUUR
- Today, we will be embarking on a hiking journey to explore the remaining five lakes located within the park. One of the lakes we will be visiting is the largest one, known as Shireet.
- Upon arriving at the nomad family on the opposite side of the park, we will meet with the driver.

ANCIENT CAPITAL OF MONGOLIA

Today, we are embarking on a journey to explore the rich history and culture of Mongolia by visiting one of its ancient capitals, Kharkhorin. This city, also known as Karakorum, served as the political, economic, and cultural hub of the Mongol Empire during the 13th century. It was founded by Chinggis Khan's son, Ögedei Khan, and continued to flourish under the rule of his successors. Kharkhorin was not only a center of power but also a melting pot of different ethnic groups and religions, making it a fascinating destination to discover.

Visit to Erdene-zuu Monastery. The 29th descendant of Chinggis khan, Abtai Khan, wanted to create a big monastery, but he couldn't choose the right place. Then the 3rd Dalai Lama Sonam Gyatso advised him to build this monastery on the ruins of the ancient capital of Mongolia. In 1586, Abtai Khan then built Erdene-Zuu.

PRZEWALSKI'S WILD HORSES

Arrival at the Khustai National Park where there are the ancestors of the horses: the wild horses of Przewalski. We settle in the ger camp then we will leave for a few hours of observation of Przewalski's horses (5-7 p.m., the ideal time to see them because they come down from the mountain to drink water). - noon, we can walk in the national park.

We will arrive in Ulaanbaatar in the afternoon. This is an opportunity to do some last souvenir shopping. Your guide will help you find the necessary shops for your desires: souvenirs, cashmere, and small Mongolian objects.
