DAY 1
ARRIVAL AND CITY TOUR

Welcome by your guide and your driver at the airport of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.

The first day program starts at noon. We start with a lunch with the Mongolian team.

Visit the superb National Museum of Mongolian History, the largest museum in Mongolia where you will learn the great history of Mongolia.

Walk in the city center of Ulaanbaatar and on the main square of Genghis Khan

The fabulous traditional Mongolian show of Tumen ekh. You will discover Mongolian instruments, traditional dances, religious dances, traditional songs, overtone songs and contortions.

GREAT HISTORY - KHARKHORIN

The adventure begins. We start our trip from Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of Mongolia. After creating Mongolia, Genghis Khan wanted to create the capital of the world in the Orkhon Valley , but unfortunately he died before it was built. In 1235, Ugudei, the son of Genghis Khan created this city in honor of his father. We will visit a museum of Kharkhorin city.

Visit to Erdene-zuu Monastery, The 29th descendant of Gengis khan, Abtai Khan, wanted to create a big monastery, but he couldn't choose the right place. Then the 3rd Dalai Lama Sonam Gyatso advised him to build this monastery on the ruins of the ancient capital of Mongolia. In 1586, Abtai Khan then built Erdene-Zuu.

ORKHON VALLEY AND NOMADIC LIFE

We will arrive at a nomadic family in the Orkhon Valley. We will be able to discover nomadic life there and we will eat Mongolian dishes and dairy products typical of Mongolian culture: fermented mare's milk and milk alcohol. Also we will be able to participate in nomadic activities: bringing back the herds, catching up with the small yaks, milking the yaks, milking the mares...

Next 2 days are devoted to rest and life with the nomads in a unique way of life. Also, we will be able to ride Mongolian horses to visit the famous waterfall of Ulaan Tsutgalan, 24 m high and a smaller waterfall of 4.5 m high in a very beautiful site. Also we can gallop in the great steppe. Finally, on the last evening, the family will prepare a Mongolian barbecue for us: meat cooked with hot stones.

On the road, we will isit the Tovkhon monastery, beautiful and historic site located in the mountains of Mongolia. The monastery dates back to the 17th century and is known for its stunning architecture and peaceful surroundings. Visitors take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

MINI-GOBI

After saying goodbye to the herders, we will go back to our 4x4s. We will head to Khogno-khan Park , also called “mini-Gobi”. It is a park with very varied landscapes: lake, sand dunes which continue for 80km, trees and mountains. After settling into the ger camp, we will visit the 18th century Erdene khamba monastery and take a walk through the sand dunes. If you wish, you can ride a camel (optional).

BACK TO CITY

We will arrive in Ulaanbaatar in the afternoon. This is an opportunity to make the last souvenir purchases. Your guide will help you find the necessary stores for your desires: souvenirs, cashmeres and small Mongolian objects.
